Having lived in London for 5 years, I was finding an inexhaustible source of inspiration in it. The majority of my artworks about London are based on real events that took place in the city as well as its cultural landmarks.
WorldPride is perhaps the most recognisable international celebration of individual diversity and freedom in the Western world. This image illustrates a gay-friendly British gathering in London’s Soho on 7th July of this year. For some people this is an original ‘postcard’ from an annual pride celebration; yet for many others, especially those in places without the same freedoms as London, it is an artistic reminder that respect for the fundamental human right to be different is one of the vital elements to a better and happier society.
This peaceful afternoon at Victoria Park is the embodiment of a rare typical sunny day in London with parks full of people. Everybody seems so happy and in harmony with nature, themselves and each other.
